Remake report: Pilotlist
- Made by: Remake (template builder, no AI model connected)
- Built from: the public behaviour of a web app at todomvc.com
- App type: list (A list you add to, tick off, edit, filter and clear (to-dos, habits, shopping, reading lists)); chosen because typing into the main box and pressing Enter added 1 list item(s) and ticking a checkbox changed the page
- Tests: 0 passed, 0 failed; browser check: passed: added an item, ticked it (0 tasks left); 0 console error(s); no horizontal overflow at 375 px
What we rebuilt
- Add tasks (Enter)
- Tick tasks done
- Edit by double-click
- Delete
- Filter: all / active / done
- Items-left counter
- Clear done
- Saved in the browser
- Keyboard and screen-reader friendly
Flows observed on the original (from the outside) and rebuilt
- Add a task: Type into the main text box → Press Enter → A new task appears in the list (1 list item(s) added); the box is cleared
- Complete a task: Tick its checkbox → Its state changes
What we left out, and why
- The original's name, logo, copy text, images, icons, fonts and colours: Trademarks and creative assets belong to their owner. The rebuild gets its own name and look.
- The original's source code: Clean-room: REA's findings only shaped the spec; the builder never saw the original code.
- Outside services: Google Analytics / Tag Manager: Analytics, ads, sign-in and other third-party accounts are theirs. Add your own if you need them.
- Their server and its 1 API path(s) (e.g. /learn.json): Server-side logic isn't visible from the outside and their API isn't yours to call. The rebuild keeps data in the browser; swap in your own backend later.
- Anything behind a login, paywall or consent click: Only the public first visit was observed.
Clean-room method
1. A sandboxed browser opened the public page; REA (github.com/morluto/rea, MIT; not affiliated) analysed its scripts.
2. An analyst step wrote spec.json: screens, controls, flows and data, never code, copy text, images or brand.
3. The builder got only spec.json and wrote new code. Brand words of the original are blocked and checked in the output.
